ObjectiveTo assess the quality of life (QOL) for survivors living in the Temporary settlements(prefabhouse) two years after “Wenchuan” earthquake and explore related factors;Investigate theincidence of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and its influencing factors for survivors three yearsafter the earthquake; To assess the change of the quality of life (QOL) and its influence factorsamong survivors living in the temporary settlements(prefab house) between two years and threeyears after the “Wenchuan” earthquake;According to scientific eviendence provided bystudy, making nursing corresponding interventions for survivors.MethodsAccording to the degree of “the results of assessment the range of the Wenchuanearthquake”,Beichuan county was heavy hit area and Jiangyou county was hit area in theearthquake.Choosing survivors located in Leigu town (Beichuan county) or Sanhe town(Jiangyou county) as participants. In srudy one,A random sample of560subjects from Beichuancounty and Jiangyou county were investigated by adopting subscale of the short-form healthsurvey questionnaire (SF-36), PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version(PCL-C), the Pittsburgh SleepQuality Index (PSQI) and Social Demographic Questionnaire. In study two,a system sample ofeight hundred and seventy subjects who came from Beichuan and Jiangyou countries wereinvestigated by adopting subscale of PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version(PCL-C) and SocialDemographic Questionnaire. In study three, the subjects, from certain village of hardest hit areas(JiangYou county)in the earthquake, were tracked to survey by adopting subscale of theshort-form health survey questionnaire (SF-36), PTSD Checklist Civilian Version(PCL-C), thePittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), homemade questionnaire about healthy status, thedemandings of community health service and social demographic questionnaire. at2years(n=125) and3years (n=119) following the earthquake respectively, six people missed the surveyin2011. Data were collected by going from door to door and interviewed face-to-face.All datawere input by Epidata3.0software and were analyzed by SPSS13.0statistical software, Chis-quare test,t test, variance analysis, rank sum test, pearson correlation analysis, multi-factor linerregression model and logistic regression model were used to analyse the statistics.Results1The results of study oneOne way variance analysis results showed that the scores of SF-36domains of victims livingin prefab house were significantly lower than norms(P<0.05) except for mental health. Differentdisastrous area, gender, age, education, occupation, marital status affected some versions and theaverage weighted score of the SF-36. The result of multivariate regression analysis showed thatthe score of PSQI, the score of PCL-C as well as occupation were the main influencing factors.2The results of study twoThe incidence rate of PTSD was8.5%,the incidence rates of PTSD for the area of Beichuanand Jiangyou were11.2%and2.3%respectively,there was a significant difference between thecounty of Beichuan and Jiangyou(P<0.01). there were no significient difference among survivorsliving in Beichuan county between the year2010and2011; The difference of the rate of PTSDwas not significient among survivors living in Jiangyou county between the year2010and 2011,the prevalence of PTSD for female and male were11.8%and4.7%respectively, there wasnot a significant difference between female and male(P<0.01). the incidence rates of PTSD forvictims who lose larger property were significant higer than those who lose less (P<0.01).theincidence rates of PTSD for victims who lose family member and those did not were13.4%and5.4%respectively,There was a significant difference (P<0.01). the incidence rate of PTSD forsurvivors aged36to59were higher than others, there was a statistical difference between them(P<0.05).the incidence rates of PTSD for survivors who worked as farmers were higher thanthose who worked as other occupations, there was a statistical difference between them(P<0.05).the posttraumatic symptoms for survivors who suffer from PTSD mainly focus onreexpericement, hypertention. The Logistic regression showed that female, the larger loss ofproperty, victims who lose family member in this earthquake were the dangerous factors ofPTSD, The value of OR was2.659、4.455、2.128separately.3The results of study threeThe difference of the quality of life (QOL),the rate of PTSD and sleep problem amongsurvivors were not significience between the year2010and2011,during this time fire is the mostworried problem among survivors; the Health education about radiation prevention was theprimary demand;Cold, Cardiovascular system disease, the symptom of feet swollen as well asfatigus were the common diseases of these people; community health services utilization degreewas low.4Corresponding nursing strategiesThe three studies showed that survivors of Wenchuan earthquake had low level of quality of life,as community nursers, in order to improve their quality of life, should take somecorresponding nursing strategies base on their health problems and community health serviceneedsConclusionTwo years after “Wenchuan” Earthquake, survivors living in prefab house had low level ofquality of life, Population with Beichuan, female, sleeping disorder, PTSD and low income shouldbe viewed as the priority of attention.Although the rate of PTSD was deceased among survivors from Beichuan county threeyears after Wenchuan earthquake compared with that of two years following the earthquake,Posttraumatic symptoms are still common among victims three years after “Wenchuan”Earthquake,Some efficient measures should be made to against the symptoms of reexpericement, hypertention, especially the population of Beichuan(heavy hit area). female, the larger loss ofproperty, victims who lose family member. There was no significant improvement of the quality of life about survivors during the timefrom the year2010to2011. as community workers, should actively contact with government toincrease the investment of community health services and establish their functions.
