The Epidemiological Investigation Of Osteoporotic Fracture In Changchun City

Objective: To survey and analyse the epidemiology of osteoporoticfractures from the patients who got treatment in Changchun City.Method: According to the epidemiological investigation,17,893caseswere selected from the department of orthopedics and the department ofrehabilitation in China-Japan Union Hospital between September2009toFebruary2012. The data were respectively analysed in male, female and thepatients of spine and/or hip fracture who were over60years-old.Results: there were12,601cases of fracture,977cases (7.75%) of whichwere osteoporotic fractures and the patients were over60years-old. It was5.46%of the patients in hospital. Female is more than male in these cases andthat in the age group of65-69year-old and70-74year-old were more thanothers; the fracture at hip joint and vertebral body were more than others;patients in January-February, March and April, November-December weremore than other month; patients in every month increased year by year.Conclusion: the characteristic of osteoporotic fracture in ChangChun citywas that:1. the age group of65-69year-old and70-74year-old were more thanothers;2. the fracture at hip joint and vertebral body were more than others;3.patients in January-February, March and April, November-December weremore than other month;4. patients in every month increased year by year.
