Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics, treatment and show surgical results of abdominal wall endometriosis (AWE) after cesarean section.Methods A retrospective study was performed on data from the medical records of51cases with diagnoses of AWE after cesarean section by pathology. The general situation, symptoms, duration of disease, surgical status, medical therapy, follow-up, and recurrence were analyzed.Results1.General situation:The mean age of51cases was (32.08±3.46) years. The mean interval from the original surgery to presentation with symptoms was (36.0±26.3) months. The mean interval from presentation with symptoms to seeing a doctor was (23.1±22.8) months.2. Symptoms:Cyclical changes in the intensity of pain and size of the mass during menstruation are characteristic of classical endometriosis.78.4%of51cases exhibited these symptoms.3. Diagnose and Treat:All of the patients were treated surgically,15cases removed the endometriosis with a safety margin was about1cm~2cm,36cases with about>2cm.4. Follow-up and Recurrence:34cases were follow-up on by phone.7cases symptom recurred, in which6cases had cyclicity of symptoms during menstruation. In the7recurred cases5patients did not receive medical management after surgical,Conclusion Surgical excision was the only effective treatment. Medical management after surgery could reduce the recurrence rate.
