Objectives The diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer recurrence and refractory forcancer clinical have been the focus of concern Cervical cancer recurrence early found onlylocal recurrence lesions just the opportunity through the radiation or pelvic dissections shouldbe treatment the treatment before using local excision local radiotherapy and arteryintubation and systemic chemotherapy and other methods the treatment effect is not verygood Intensity-modulated radiation therapy IMRT intensity-modulated radiotherapy is anaccurate radiotherapy treatment technology which developed on the basis of the threedimensional conformal radiotherapy3DCRT The value and significance of the treatment ofmalignant tumor in the current report of literature in the report is more postoperativeradiotherapy for cancer and recurrent cancer treatment To compare the treatment effectsdosimetry and toxicities of ladder rectum intestine and so on of intensity-modulated radiationtherapy IMRT and3-dimentional conformal radiotherapy3D-CRT plans for cervicalcarcinoma with recurrence and transferMethods A hospital-based case-control study was conducted Presently in our hospitalfrom Oct2007to Oct201162patients of cervical carcinoma with recurrence and transfer weredivided into two group29of intensity-modulated radiation therapy33of3-dimentionalconformal radiotherapy which were performed with6mv-X ray The regimen was18-2.2Gy/f lf/1d18-33times of completion Prescribed dose40-60Gy Median dose52.8Gy At the same time for the IMRT group in29cases do with3D-CRT which were designedgive the same prescribeddose then to compare in radiation dose of more dangerous organs(OAR)Results The maximum dose of the two plans show that ladder and intestine in IMRT planswere lower than3D-CRT which were designed P<0.05show the IMRT in its protectiveadvantages the maximum dose of PTV in IMRT plans were higher than3D-CRT which weredesigned P<0.05which had significant differences The group of IMRT plans2cases ofsurvival,23deaths,4cases were lost by follow-up time, the overall1-2-and3-year survivalrates were65.5%27.6%and6.9%the median survival time was19months about the28deaths21patients died of tumor progression7patients died of distant metastases thegroup of3D-CRT plans1cases of survival,30deaths,2cases were lost by follow-up time, theoverall1-2-and3-year survival rates were60.6%21.2%and3.0%the median survival time was17months about the32deaths24patients died of tumor progression8patientsdied of distant metastasis to compare the two plans the overall1-2-and3-year survivalrates were P>0.05there were no significant differences in the two groups The toxicitiesincidence of the IMRT plans were obviously lower than the3D-CRT plans especially leveland levelConclusions The treatment effects of the IMRT plans were better than the3D-CRT plansfor cervical carcinoma with recurrence and transfer which can improve tumor dose at the sametime reduce the normal tissue by volume and as dose so as to reduce the happening of theadverse reaction...
