Objective To investigate the effections of IGF-1R and IGF1in gastrointestinal stromal tumors’ pathogenesis and their clinical significance.Method RT-PCR was used to determine the IGF-1R and IGF1mRNA expressions in40cases of gastrointestinal stromal tumors tissues and the normal tissues.By comparison,the expression of CD117in gastrointestinal stromal tumors was analyzed.Result In gastrointestinal stromal tumors, the expressions of IGF-1R and IGF1were significantly higher than those of normal tissues(P<0.05); In5cases which CD117was negative,the expression rate of IGF-1R and IGF1was80.0%,40%respectively;The expression of IGF-1R and IGF1was correlated with the NIH stage(tumor size, mitotic figures),invasion of mucosa,tumor invasion and metastasis(P<0.05).The expression had no relationship with gender, age, differentiate tissue type.Conclusion IGF-1R and IGF1play an important role in the genesis and development of gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Espically in the GIST of CD117negative,IGF-1R shows more positive, combine with CD117has a good complementarity for the diagnosis of GIST. IGF-1R and IGF1may associated with the presence of invasion and metastasis in gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
