Some Questions On Formulating The Speech Audiometry Word Lists Of Mandarin Deaf Child

Speech audiometry is very important as an instrument to evaluate the speech understanding ability for patients. But since speech audiometry of chinese deaf children exposure to three aspects of "speech test materials shortage" and "speech testing method is not standard" and "the compilation principles is not agreed", leading to low clinical popularity rate. Firstly, though there are many speech audiometry word lists in our country, suitable for children’s is scarce, especially less than four years old children; Secondly, the test method is not uniform, which lack of objectivity and criterion, there are few speech audiometry word list based on the corpus. In the past, a few test lists are not scientific completely, the speech testing method based on the corpus avoid these defects. Thirdly, the compilation principles of test list are not unified and considerate, although have involved such principles as word familiarity, phonetic balance and equivalence among lists, the principles such as semantic balance and part of speech balance have been always ignored. In view of this, we divide the corpus of one year and two months to three years and six months target children LXY into three age groups, and explain the problems separately from three aspects such as phone, semantic and grammar based on the predecessor’s research achievements. We aims to build an ideal norm, according to the norm to speculate the possible semantic category and word class of two to four years old mandarin hearing-impaired children and then to design a mandarin chinese speech audiometry word list for them. This paper is aimed at two to four years old mandarin children receiving rehabilitation treatment who wear hearing aid and implant artificial cochlea. Due to different hearing-impaired children have different hearing impairment, different time of wearing hearing aid or implanting artificial cochlea, and different condition of rehabilitation treatment, speech audiometry is a rather complex and difficult problem in clinic. So the conclusion and example word list in this paper are not absolute and unique. Our goal is to provide a set of relevant date and a linguistic reference from the perspective of linguistics, but not to develop a standardized speech audiometry word list.
