| Objective:In the study serum circulating levels of YKL-40and the related factors were examined in type2diabetes analyzing the relationship between YKL-40and the factors. We also explored YKL-40’s implication in type2diabetes.Methods:Samples obtained from90subjects were used in the study. Circulating YKL-40, FBG, PBG2h, HbA1C, FINS, TC, TG, LDL, HDL, hs-CRP concentrations, SP,DP, height, weight and WC were measured in type2diabetes/obese (TO n=30), type2diabetes/nonobese (TN n=30), normal control (NC n=30). BMI and HOMA-IR were calculated. Differences of YKL-40and the related factors between groups were assessed by one-way ANOVA. Pearson’s correlation coefficients were used to analyze the association between variables. Multiple line regression was used to analyze the independent associated factor.Results:(1) Serum FBG, PBG2h, HbA1C, FINS, HOMA-IR, TG, LDL, hs-CRP levels were significantly increased in type2diabetes compared with normal control(P<0.05);(2) Significant differences in circulating YKL-40concentration between the three experimental groups were observed (P<0.05). Serum YKL-40levels were significantly increased in type2diabetes/obese compared with type2diabetes/nonobese;(3) Serum YKL-40levels were positively associated (P<0.01) with WC, BMI, weight, HbA1C, FBG, PBG2h, LDL as well as HOMA-IR and were not associated with hs-CRP and FINS; Multiple line regression analysis implied that YKL-40was independently associated with WC.Conclusion:(1) Circulating YKL-40levels were increased in type2diabetes and were higher in type2diabetes/obese compared with type2diabetes/nonobese;(2) YKL-40was an inflammation factor independent of hs-CRP;(3) WC was an independent associated factor of YKL-40. |
