Objective To compare the impact of the approach of intrasacrosinal muscular and midlineon paraspinal muscle for lumbar interbody fusion. Methods The CK levels of peripheralblood had been measured preoperatively and24hours after operation, the CK levels ofparaspinal muscles when the muscles were immediately exposed and the retractor was just loosedin the two groups of patients. To record the muscle strain time, operation time, the amount ofbleeding and post-operative drainage and the VAS of low back and leg pain preoperatively,1month and6months after operation. Results In the approach of intrasacrospinal musculargroup, The change of the CK of the muscle, bleeding in the operation, and post-operative drainagewere significally difference (P<0.01), VAS of back pain at both1and6months after operationshowed a better relief in the approach of intrascrospinal muscular (P<0.01), but no significallydifference in leg pain VAS between the two groups(P>0.05). The CK of peripheral blood had nosignificant difference in the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion The approach ofintrasacrospinal muscular to lumbar interbody fusion is a better way, because of less injury toparaspinal muscle, bleeding in the operation, post-operative drainage, and rapid recovery.ve drainage and so the get a more rapid recovery.
