Objective To study the effect ofARBX cooperation with externalfixator in the treatment of the limbs traumatic osteomyelitis.Methods Wereviewed40patients who had been treated for the four limbs traumaticosteomyelitis ARBX cooperation with external fixato between January2001andDecember2009in our hospital, they were treated by taking out internal fixation,debriding infection lesions, napping cut ends, grafting ARBX and fixingexternal fixator.The effect of the method was evaluated by:wound healing time,antibiotic treatment,external fixation time,fracture osseous healing time,andfunction recovery. Results The mean follow-up time was6years,The infectionwere cured without recurrence in35cases,the recovery rate of infection is87.5%.Conclusions①Anti-infection reconstituted bone xenograft cooperatewith the external fixation is an efficacious treatment for traumatic osteomyelitis, thismethod can get good results of infection control and bony union; it can controlinfection and repair nonunion and bone defect simultaneously;②Radical debridgement of all necrotic and nonviable bone and soft tissue from the woundis the key point for getting good results;...
