Seed-watermelon that is the seeds of watermelon is very popular in theSouth-East Asia. Its consumption increased year by year. Planting melon for farmersto increase their income, to lead a happy life has important practical significance.Xinjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai and other provinces in theNorthwest of China began planting Seed-watermelon. The process of theSeed-watermelon production, such as plowing soil, preparing land, planting,cultivating, and plant protection farming methods have been gradually mechanized,but the all of the work is only60%of the total amount of labor. The rest work ofSeed-watermelon production such as picking, putting the Seed-watermelon togetherand the transportation of the Seed-watermelon mainly rely on manual operation.These operations are not only labor-intensive, but high labor costs. It is the mostimportant issue is to limit the large-scale cultivation of Seed-watermelon.The solution to this problem must rely on speeding up the development of theSeed-watermelon harvest machinery and related equipment to solve the seriousproblem of the Seed-watermelon mechanical harvesting process. To promotemechanization Seed-watermelon harvest can reduce the cost and time of theSeed-watermelon harvest, also can reduce the economic input of the farmers plantingSeed-watermelon and promote the planting melon farmers incomes. Therefore,mechanization Seed-watermelon harvest that can promote the prosperity anddevelopment of the national economy has a pivotal significance. Xinjiang firstly carryout the Seed-watermelon mechanized harvesting technology and apply the equipmentto harvest the Seed-watermelon in China. Agricultural Mechanization Institute ofXinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences has successfully developed aSeed-watermelon Picking and Threshing Harvester.This thesis is to analyze the intensity of the pick-up roller of theSeed-watermelon Picking and Threshing Harvester. The pick-up roller must have sufficient intensity to ensure a safe and reliable transportation. This requires that weknow exactly what the pick-up roller parts intensity data in a variety of roadconditions. The intensity data that can be used to calibrate the overall strength of thepick-up roller.With the development of CAD/CAE technology, computer simulation can beused widely in modern mechanical design because of its feasible, reliable and highefficiency. In this thesis, using a powerful modeling software Unigraphics (UG) tobuild the main parts of the pick-up roller, and then to assemble the parts in a virtualassembly environment to build overall pick-up roller parts. using the static analysismodule of the ANSYS workbench software to analyze the intensity of the pick-uproller in a variety of different situations of the road surface. These analysis can showthat whether the pick-up roller parts have sufficient strength to transport in a varietyof different situations of the road surface.
