In the test,72of the32-day-old female AA broilers were selected and randomlydivided into4groups (3replicates in each group and6broilers in each replicate). Thegroup Ⅰ was fed basal diet while the group Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳwere fed basal dietsupplemented with0.4%,0.8%and1.6%CMH(mass ratio). The pre-experimentlasted5days and the experimental period lasted10days, then the42-day-old (5d) and47-day-old (10d) AA broilers were slaughtered(2broilers in each replicate). In thefirst part of the experiment, the growth performance, meat quality, blood biochemicalindexes in subjects (5d and10d) and the muscle amino acid in subjects (10d) weretested. In the second part of the experiment, the IGF1and GH levels in serum and theexpression of IGF1, IGF1R and GHR mRNA in breast muscle of subjects (10d) wereanalysised. The results showed as follow.1.CMH increased growth performance in AA broilers. Compared with the controlgroup, the average daily gain of the subjects (5d), which is14.16%,26.67%and28.09%significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05) and the subjects(10d) improved by13.45%,14.38%and14.60%(P<0.05), while the5d and10dsubjects in group Ⅳ have a significant higher the feed conversion rate with19.79%and10.24%higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). As to the breast musclepercentage, subjects (5d) in group Ⅲ and Ⅳ showed significantly improvement bya percentage of1.65and1.82higher (P<0.05), while the subjects (10d) improved by apercentage of2.05,2.08and2.2(P<0.05), and subjects (5d) have significant higherleg muscle percentage by a percentage of1.36,1.56and1.85higher of the controlgroup (P<0.05),while the subjects(10d) was improved by a percentage of1.42,1.57and1.83(P<0.05).2.CMH may affect on meat quality and blood biochemical indexes inbroilers. With the increasing of CMH level in the fed, pH45minof breast muscle tendedto increase and the drop loss of breast muscle tended to decrease. The total protein in group Ⅳ (10d) in serum was significantly increased (P<0.05) and the uric acid, triglycerides, total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein tended to decrease, but thedifference was not significant (P>0.05).3.CMH may affect on amino acid composition in breast muscle. Compared withgroup I,the total amino acid in group Ⅱ, Ⅲ andⅣ increased by0.92%,2.04%and7.41%. The cystine in group Ⅳ was significantly higher than that of the control(P<0.05). While the proline increased by9.74%,10.54%and19.68%, and nosignificant difference was found (P>0.05).4.CMH can promote the expression of the GH and IGF1gene.With theincreasing of CMH level in the fed, the levels of GH and IGF1in serum had a trend ofincreasing, subjects in group Ⅳwas significantly increased (P<0.05). The expressionof IGF1mRNA in group Ⅲ and Ⅳ were significantly increased (P<0.05), but theIGF1R mRNA was not affected (P>0.05).Meanwhile, the expression of GHR mRNAhad trend to increase (P>0.05).In conclusion, CMH can promote the growth of broilers and affect meat qualityand some blood biochemical indexes. Moreover, CMH can increase expression ofIGF1gene.The study indicated that the suitable supplementation of CMH in broilerswas0.4%(mass ratio).
