Selenium is a necessary trace element for human beings and animals. The content of selenium is rare and unevenly distributed in the nature. Since1817selenium was discovered, people had experienced a tortuous process for knowing selenium and stepped-up increasingly. Today, it is accepted that selenium can eliminate hyperoxide caused by organism’s metabolic activity, protect the structure of cell membrane from being damaged by hyperoxide, restore cells, resist oxidization and stay caducity. Selenium could enhance body’s immunity by recognition capability of immune system for virus and foreign matter entering the body and intravital pathology, improve antibody synthesis of B cells and increment of T cells, accommodate the level of antibody. As non-metallicion with negative charge, selenium can combine with harmful metallicion with positive charge and excrete directly, reduce toxicity of heavy metal ion, play the role of detoxification and detoxification. Selenium was also the destruction of cancer cells that blocks the energy source of cancer cells, and form internal environment to restrain cancer cells multiplication. As necessary trace element, selenium was added in the animals’feed, especially in order to produce enriched selenium animal and aquatic product in recent years, it was enriched from animals to product by added in feed heavily. But animals were sensitive to selenium in the ration, so added overweight selenium may cause poisoning. Therefore, the method should be established a fast, accurate and high-efficiency, determinate the content of selenium in feed accurately, providing basis for feed recipe and controlling the content of selenium. The paper was based on the epoptic characteristic wavelength of selenium when it was restored from sexivalent to quadrivalent, and using atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer, establishing atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS) to determinate selenium in feed. By studying the method of samples’ preprocess and groping the condition of atomic fluorescence chromatographic system, the samples were treated and detected with optimization. With the condition of HVPS:270V; Lamp Current:70mA; Atomic Transition Temperature:Room Temperature; the Height Of Stove:8mm; Flow Rate:600mL/min;Shielding Gas Velocity:800mL/min; Measuring Mode:Calibration Curve Method; Reading System:Peak Area; Delay Time:ls; Read Time:12s,The LOD was3ng/Kg.The method was used of determinate the content of selenium in Livestock and Poultry and aquatic animals’feed. The results showed the method was not differ significantly with national standard method, and dramatically reduce the time of preprocess. The result of content proves that sample concentration was between0.01μg/ml and0.05μg/ml, sample concentration and peak height had good linear relationship and recycling rate at80~120%.
