Function of forest carbon sink is a focus problem in ecological research.Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys heterocycla var. pubescens), which hasimportant ecological, economic and landscape value, is one of the largest areaand the most widely distribution resources in China. In this study, carbonstorage in soil, litter layers were investigated by setting plots and the biomassequation was modeled by estimating tree layer of Moso bamboo forest insuburban Shanghai. The results showed that the total carbon storage of Mosobamboo forest ecosystem was149.16t·hm-2in the east Sheshan area. Thecarbon storage of soil layer (1m) in Moso bamboo pure forest was130.43t·hm-2which was accounted for87.44%of the Bamboo plantation ecosystem, but the litter layer carbon storage was3.08t·hm-2that only accounted for2.06%. Tree layer of carbon storage was15.65t·hm-2and the proportion oftree layer in total Moso bamboo ecosystem was10.50%. The stem of bamboowas the largest proportion of biomass (15.65t·hm-2) in Moso bambooindividual which was up to56.54%and the carbon storage of stem in Mosobamboo was8.85t·hm-2. Followed by the stem of bamboo, the undergroundpart of bamboo biomass was7.13t·hm-2, which was accounted for totalbamboo biomass ratio of22.79%and the carbon storage of underground partwas3.57t·hm-2. Smaller proportions of bamboo branch and bamboo leaves were accounted for13.81%and5.44%in the whole Moso bamboo ecosystemand the carbon storage of which was2.16t·hm-2and0.85t·hm-2, respectively. There are the same tendencies of biomass and carbon storage proportions inthe Bamboo plantation ecosystem of Tianma shan area.
