The Evaluation And Utilization Of Chongming Goldenmelon Germplasm Resources

This paper elaborated the origin of goldenmelon on the island, thedistribution of germplasm resources in China, the economic value andindustry status and prospects of goldenmelon. Because protection andutilization of local germplasm resources are ignored for a long time, authenticGoldenmelon is almost hard to find, thus it derives a series of productionissues of week resistance, low yield, poor quality, the low commodity rateand inappropriate processing, that make the production and processing ofChongming goldenmelon always difficult to form large-scale andindustrialization. The thesis studied the resources types, main varieties,distribution survey, utilization approach and prospect of goldenmelon inChongming area, collected different sources of germplasm resources to filterout the germplasm materials with fine characters by focusing on cultivation and evaluating the comprehensive characters of growth habits, agronomiccharacters and melon thread characteristics, in order to provide accurate basicdata for the fine breed propagation, germplasm innovation research andexploitation of goldenmelon in this area. The result showed that after fieldobserving and identifying the ninety-three accumulated materials ofgoldenmelon germplasm resources, thirty-three materials of core high-qualitygermplasm species were obtained by clustering analyse, those have providedparent selection for hybridization. The main character of melon shaped, fruitweight, skin color, melon flesh thickness, melon silk thick and rate of threadswere analyzed comprehensively, germplasm selected from some of the finematerials can be used as the core of processing high-quality breedinggermplasm.
