Yunnan Dayecha, which belongs to sexual groups of early birth and arbor big leaf trees and is suitable for making black tea and bulk green tea, it is native to Yunnan Province and introduced in Guangxi in the late1970s and early1980s last century. In the late nineties, the low selling price of black tea and bulk green tea, and increasing cost of production (such as labor, fertilizer and transportation etc.), resulted in the low yield and inefficiency in the tea garden. It’s hard for tea famers to live within their income. The production and the operation of Yunnan Dayecha is struggling, so, improvement of the tea garden is both inevitable and necessary. For this reason, we have carried out the research of grafting the Oolong tea onto Yunnan Dayecha, the purpose is to select the right variety of Oolong tea which suitable for grafting onto Yunnan Dayecha, and study the characteristics and production process of tea for the tea garden, finally provide a theoretical and practical basis for the promotion of large area tea planting. The main results are as follows:(1) By using the combined solution of ABT400ppm+GA50ppm, the grafting success of Jinxuan was increased by8.7%compared with the test of CK.(2) The experiment results of10varieties of Oolong tea prove that the grafting Jinxuan and Cuiyu Oolong tea came off well in the survival rate, phonological period and output aspects, and regional test results also show that the method of grafting the variety of Jinxuan and Cuiyu Oolong tea onto Yunnan Dayecha is characterized by the features of the high production, better adaptability and good processing suitability of the tea. And compared with the traditional tea garden, Jinxuan grafting tea garden use less10-13days during the the period of pre budding and picking season.(3) The quality of the green tea, black tea and oolong tea which processed by traditional planting and grafting of JinXuan tea garden is nearly the same, and the biochemical components contained is not changed. (4) In comparison of economic benefit for the Tea Garden of JinXuan Grafting, YunNan Dachaye and JinXuan New Planting, we found that the first one has the advantages of quick operation and high benefit. i.e. by using the grafting technology for the replacement of tea varieties is characterized by the features of faster growing, quick return and high benefit with smaller investment. This is an effective way to promote the improved varieties of clone tea.
