Several studies on genetic improvement and technologies of Hosteins in Ningxiaprovince were accomplished,which were based on investigation of DHI testing herd inNingxia and factors analysis that affect herd genetic improvement,applying computertechnology. The results are as following:1.The DHI’s data of129854samples were analyzed,which comprise of16379milkingcows from43herds. The results showed that the average milking days in testing cows were219.77days, the average lactation were2.51,the average milking yield was23.08kg,adjustedmilking yield was27.94kg,the average rushing milking yield was33.59kg, the averagerushing days were105.31,fat percentage was3.88%,protein percentage was3.55%.2.Ningxia Bulls Regisering Information System was dedigned assistively,in order tounderstand exactly the genetic evaluation information about the bulls of Hosteins in Ningxia.The system could accomplish the registerring about the basic information ofbulls,pedigree,the image,productive management, semen quality management. Importantly,the relative index between any bulls was also caculated to avoid the occurring of (近交)remarkablely in the select mating.At present,131bulls were registerred in the above system,whose daughters were distributed in820herds.In a word, The genetic evulation data-base ofbulls have been accomplised perfectly.3. The strategy for Ningxia Holstein Herd improvement with genetic resource abroadwere given as follows:establish the organization of breeding for cows in Ningxiaprovince;establish the high yield leader nuclear population, genetic improve herd rapidly withimported elite bull semen,select mating accord to balance breeding principle, reinforce theconstruction of Holstein’s progeny testing, consummate dairy breeding and breeding materialmanagement, breed elite bulls by ourselves,and so on.
