There are three parts in this paper. First part is the reconstruction of the pig house. Then the lattertwo parts are environmental assessment without or with pigs in the pig house, so as to provide ideas forcreating the comfortable situation for pigs. The first part was the reconstruction of pig house, totally, which included the reformation of thehouse ground, as well as the installation of floor heating system, automatic environmental controlsystems, gas monitoring system, pig performance measurement station and behavior monitoring system. The second part was environmental assessment without pigs in the reconstruction pig house. Theenvironmental assessment period were chosen as September and November. Firstly, the temperature offloor and inside temperature and the humidity of the reconstructive pig house (with the color plateoutside) and the control one (with bricks outside) were measured for three days continuous during thetwo months, respectively. The results showed that there were no significant (P>0.05) differences of thetemperature and humidity and the surface temperature of floor between the two groups in September, while the fore-mentioned two indices were significant (P <0.01) lower in the reconstructive pig housethan that in the control house in November. Then we studied that the effects of inside temperature, windspeed and noise with opening different number of fans, which showed that inside temperature wassignificantly (P <0.01) lower when one or two fans were opened than that with three or four fans opened. Moreover, the wind speed and noise were increased significantly (P <0.01) as the opening fansincreased. At last, we assayed the effects of the temperature and humility of the reconstructive pig houseas the different temperature of floor heating system set, which revealed that power consumption, surfacetemperature of the floor and inside temperature were all increased as the temperature of heating systemincreased, but the humility inside was decreased. Moreover, there was a certain linear regressionrelationship between the surface temperature of floor (Y) and the temperature set (X), which was Y=1.65X-4.11.In conclusion, two fans with50′as the wet curtain-fan system and35-40℃as the floor heatingsystem set in winter and adjust the temperature appropriately according to outside temperature. The third part was environmental assessment with pigs in the reconstruction pig house. Firstly, weevaluated the uniformity of the floor heating system, and compared the effects of different floor typeson pollution areas surrounding, the surface temperature of floor and abdominal temperature of pigs. Theresults showed that the uniformity of the floor heating system was good. The surface temperature offloor and abdominal temperature of pigs were significantly (P <0.01) improved by the heating floor, andthe pollution area was significantly (P <0.01) reduced. Secondly, the environmental quality and the backand abdominal temperature of pigs were compared between the reconstructive house and the control one, which showed that the effective temperature, the back and abdominal temperature of pigs, theconcentrations of PM10and PM2.5in the treatment group were significantly (P<0.01) higher than thatin the control group, but the concentrations of harmful gases (H2S, NH3) were significantly (P <0.01) lower than the control house. In addition, we studied effects of the inside wind speed, temperature andnoise caused by the automatic small windows with different ventilation angle (30°,60°,90°). Theresults showed the wind speed and noise were no significant (P>0.05) difference among the threeopening angle at the height of0.8m,1.5m and1.9m. While the temperature was significantly (P<0.01) higher with the angle at30°than at60°and90°, and the temperature was significantly (P<0.01)higher at60°than at90°. Finally, we studied the effects of the environmental situation by the automaticsmall window and the various frequency fans, which contained the different frequency as5min/3h,5min/2h,5min/h,5min/h and the window slitting10cm on the south side. The results revealed thatthere was no significant ((P>0.05) difference for the surface temperature of floor among the variousventilation models. The effective environment temperature and the concentrations of NH3and CO2werereduced very significantly (P <0.01) with ventilating frequency increased. The concentrations of PM10and PM2.5were also reduced continuously. In conclusion, the uniformity of floor heating system was good in the reconstructive house, whichmade the pens cleaner. Environmental quality of reconstructive pig house was improved significantlyexcept for the high dust concentration. The appropriate ventilation model was the automatic windowopened at30°, and the ventilating frequency at5min/h and opening the window slitted with10cm onthe south side.
