Floral transition is an important physiology developmental course in plants.Many kinds of genes and environment factors control this process.Rice and blossoming to be mutually It has a great value for the breeding works to study the Flowering related genes in rice, which is an important cereal crops as a kind of Monocotyledon.The TFL2gene is a kind of gene related to plant flowering which is mainly expressed at the meristem and vascular bundle in Arabidopsis, a kind of dicotyledon model, and can delay flowering time, affecting many aspects abot growing and developping in plants. And LHP1which is the production of TFL2is a homologue of HP1, an abbreviation of heterochromatin protein1. The transcriptional repressors of PcG (the polycomb group) proteins which exist in animals can regulate the expression of target genes through chromatin modifications.Study found that PcG protein not only control the individual’s development mode, but also affect the cell proliferation, differentiation and cancerous tumors.Through bioinformatics technology, researchers found that LHP1and PcG protein may have similar functions. Therefore, studying TFL2gene’s function for revealing the evolution characteristics, deepening the understanding of the nature of the whole also has important theoretical significance. Our laboratory members in the first few years, using RNAi interference and gene overexpression technology, has been build TFL2gene carrier transformation of rice plants, got some genetically modified rice plants. In the basis, through observing the offspring seedling from the genetically modified rice plants, and doing statistics about the phenotypic characterization, using the paraffin section to observing organization form, through cloning and comparing sequencing of different kinds of rice TFL2gene,,to some extent, we reveals the TFL2gene’s function in rice.The rice TFL2gene has similar function with arabidopsis on controling the growth and development of seeding.But there is also difference.Compared with contrast, the phenotypic characterization of58N TOE and2616TOE plant have no significant difference;Compared with contrast,58N TRI plant show a variety of features which specific performance of spiral curly leaf, plant height reduced, tiller number increased, heading in advance, setting down, seed germination thwarted and germination rate reduced, the male gametophyte part of infertility, female gametophyte development obstruction, embryo and endosperm presenting distortion characteristics;TFL2gene sequences in three japonica varieties are different with each other. The two cultivated varieties2616and58N, which are chose for studing, some of their genetic sequence mutations.But the protein sequence derived by the DNA sequence, has no obvious difference and function similarly in arabidopsis and rice.
