To reduce the cost and promote the process of popularization and application of potted Agapanthus, this research studied on the soilless substrate and the nutrient solution for the soilless cultivated Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’separately from the three aspects which included the physical and chemical characters of different mixed substrates, the effects of different substrates on the growth status of Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’and the matching nutrient solution formulas. The mine conclusions are as follows:(1)Almost all the physical and chemical characters of V-corn stalk:V-rotted leaf of Agapanthus praecox:V-slag (1:2:1) were suitable for soilless culture which the bulk density, the total porosity, the pH and the EC index were0.370g.cm-3、81.12%、6.7、0.513ms.cm-1respectively. The Chlorophyll (a+b), the Pn, the soluble sugar of the tissue and the roots activity of Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’cultivated with the substracte were2.362mg.g-1,5.050μmolCO2.m-.s-1,2.578%and0.361mg.g-1.h-1respectively, and significantly higher than the control group. And th,tress and damage degree caused by the matrix were significantly smaller than the control group, which the content of MDA and the permeability of the tissue lows to0.0119μmol.g-1FW and15.240%respectively.(2)The growth condition of Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’was negatively correlated with nutrient solution concentration and positively correlated with the ferric salt content of nutrient solution under the nutrient solution’s pH between5.5and6.5.(3)Agapanthus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’poured by the nutrient solution composed of0.5times concentration+1.2times ferric salt+pH6.5growed robustly which the dry matter, the Chlorophyll (a+b), the Pn, the roots’activity were higher to16.150g,1.707mg.g-1,6.370μmolCO2.m-2.s-1,1.284mg.g-1.h-1respectively. and had strong ability to resist outside stress, the permeability of the tissue lows to8.030%. So this nutrient solution is the best Formula for soilless cultivation of Aagapathus praecox ssp. orientalis’Big Blue’. The result also provides some reference to the studies of the flowering regulated by nutrition.
