Film mulched furrow-ridge cropping is a recent modification of maize cropping pattern in Gansu province. In order to improve the yield of maize and evaluate the sustainability of agriculture soil, the research was designed to effects of film mulch on soil nitrogen net mineralization in maize cropped soil in Yuzhong Country of Gansu Province. The experiment started in April2011and ended in October2011. Four treatments were tested, nil-mulch plus nil-maize(CK), maize(M),film mulch(F), maize plus film mulch(MF).The results were obtained:1. Both F and MF increased soil mineral N content significantly compared with CK and M from seedling stage to harvest.Near jointing stage, mineral N content was increased significantly by MF and F, respectively compared with M and CK.Except jointing stage, mineral N content was increased significantly by CK and M, respectively compared with F and MF.2. Soil nitrogen net mineralization content for four treatments received the maximum near jointing stage. From seedling stage, both F and MF increased soil nitrogen net mineralization content significantly compared with CK and M. At jointing stage and sowing stage, M increased soil nitrogen net mineralization content significantly compared with CK. From jointing stage to sowing stage, MF increased soil nitrogen net mineralization content significantly compared with F.3. Soil nitrogen net mineralization rate for four treatments received the maximum near jointing stage. From seedling stage to jointing stage, soil nitrogen net mineralization rate for four treatments were positive. From jointing stage to harvest, soil nitrogen net mineralization rate for four treatments were negative. From seedling stage to harvest, both F and MF increased soil nitrogen net mineralization rate significantly compared with CK and M.Mulching significantly increased soil mineral N content, nitrogen net mineralization content and net mineralization rate between seedling stage and sowing stage. But after sowing stage, net mineralization rate with mulch or not had no significant difference.
