| The substrates cost can be greatly reduced if use agriculture by-product resources as peat substitute, so it is important to study it. Moreover, in our country, the theory studies of growing media is relative lagged behind, and the current researches of growing media are simple media formulations and effect of growing media on plants growth, it is necessary to conduct a deep research to properties of growing media, if we know clearly of the properties of growing media, we can have clear objectives when we mix and manage growing media. An experiment was conducted to find the cultivation effects of three kinds of agricultural organic castoffs(Sedum-straw〠Mushroom residue〠Sawdust) on ornamental peach in order to reduce the dependence on peat as primary growing medium. Seven treatments were set up according to different volume ratios of the three kinds of agricultural organic castoffs(V(Sedum-straw):V(Mushroom residue):V(sand)=6:2:2ã€V(Sedum-straw):V(Mushroom residue):V(Sawdust):V(Vermiculite):V(sand)=5:3:1:1:1〠V(Sedum-straw):V(Mushroom residue:V(Sawdust):V(Vermiculite)=3:4:1:3. Results indicate that the physical and chemical properties of all the three treatments meet the general need for growing media.Ornamental peach in those treatments had a strong growing trend and the comprehensive performances of growth and development were also significantly better than that in the control. Thus, Sedum-straw〠Mushroom residue and Sawdust can be good substitutes for peat as soilless growing media of ornamental peachDurations of chilling expose affected heat requirement of varieties. In case of deficient chilling expose, although budburst exist, the budburst rate were far less than meeting the need of production, and the heat requirements tended to infinity. In case of sufficient chilling expose, heat requirements declined as chilling expose increased. It was discovered that there was a best quantity of chilling expose which minimize the total duration from dormancy to sprouting. In case of deficient chilling expose, the use of growth regulator show little effects on heat requirements of buds, and the heat requirements still tended to infinity. In case of sufficient chilling expose, GA3,6-BA and IBA all had the effect of reducing heat requirements of buds, had the highest efficiency of reducing heat requirement. The effects of ABA were nor obvious. |
