| Eucommia is a kind of traditional Chinese herb medicine which has many benefiteffections, and the barks of the trees are used as herb medicine. Modern medicalscience shows that Eucommia has the effect of blood-pressure control, antiseptic aswell as anticancer. Some researchers showed that the compounds in the leaves are thesame with that contained in the barks, so the leaves can be used as herb medicineinstead of the barks. In this research, the separation as well as purification experiments are carried onwith the Eucommia leaves which were taken from Wangping Xiang are used asmaterial, besides these, the activity detection experiments were also carried out, which including:1. Find out the best method of separating alcohol-paste from the Eucommia leaves, and the mathematical model catalpol was established. The best conditions of extractare got by the Design expert8,which are: concentration of methanol74%, ratio ofsolid to liquid1:13, the extraction temperature68℃, extraction time2.6h.2. The purification of the paste is carried out using silica-gel columnchromatography, with the gradient elution. The compounds are well separated by thismethod.3. Studies on the activity of antiseptic are carried out using7different kinds ofbacteria, which are Escherichia col, Staphylococ cu saureus, Bacillus anthraci,Bacilussubtilis, Aspergillus niger and Penicilliumsp. The results showed that thecompounds have the activity of antiseptic to Escherichia col,Staphylococ cu saureusand Bacillus anthraci, but cannot restrict the other4kinds of bacteria.4. Studies on the activity of anticancer are carried out using the human mammary–cancer cell as material, meanwhile, the normal cells were also used to compare theaffection of the compounds to both cancer-cells and the normal cells. The resultsshowed that the compounds from the leaves can restrict the growing of human mammary–cancer cells,at the same time, can also affected the normal cells.Furthermore, the activity of anticancer to human mammary–cancer cells is higherthan that to normal cells. |
