Practice And Design Of Soil-retaining Dam In Yan’an Minor Watershed

Construction of soil-retaining dam is an important measure in loess plateau hillygully areas to mitigate soil and water loss, strengthen drought resistance ability,accelerate the returning land for farming to forestry, promote development of animalagriculture, improve the plant conditions in agriculture, and to facilitation ofsecological balance, as well as have significant benefit in social and economical.The paper investigated the existing conditions of soil and water loss andconstruction of soil-retaining dam, and then depending on the project of a mountaindam, analyzed the design and application of soil-retaining dam. Combining the natural,social and economical conditions of local area, by hydrographic and adjust bloodcalculation, dam body design, construction plan, quantity of project and general benefitanalysis, for the purpose of conservation and exploitation water and soil resources toformation of soil-retaining dam.The paper also analyzed the existing problems in construction and managementof soil-retaining dams, and proposed some suggestions in design, application,checking, maintenance and reinforcement to ensure the safety and regular application.
