In the traditional RV reducer design, we did not consider many controlled factors anduncontrolled factors influence on the RV reducer, and robust design method thought as a newtype of improving the quality of engineering design methods is feasible and practical to use indesigning RV reducer. So in this paper, we based on the robust design ideas, research userobust design apply to the RV reducer’s dimension chain error, Backlash, error andsensitivity. Content as follows:(1) RV reducer’s dimension chain robust design. Because of RV reducer have less loops,so traditional chain error describing function use normal distribution description can not usehere, because of it will lead error. This paper use distribution description error, set a modelof little move target, use the robust design of the space expand operation design thought,caneffectively decrease error, and with the actual example for verification(2) Use Taguchi robust design to design backlash. First, we analyzed the main factorswhich influence RV reducer’s backlash and summed up these factors that can be used as thedesign variables (controlled factor) which can be used as a noise factors (uncontrollablefactors). Establish controllable factors and controlled factor level table. Analysis the type ofthe target and choose the right of orthogonal forms to the orthogonal experiment. By useconsidering the signal noise ratio of Taguchi robust design method to analysis results andacquire the best combination to reduce backlash. And contrast with method of directanalyzing to do good analysis.(3) In error control, we first analysis main factors of hinged four-bar linkage’s error. Putfour-bar linkage’s rotation angle as noise factors to robust design. Establish Orthogonal testform use length of four-bar linkage as controlled factor and rotation angle as noise factors.We use software of VB and MATLAB to calculate, and get a set of optimal parameters.(4) Do robust design on part of RV reducer’s cycloidal pinwheel, Put forwarduncontrollable factors in common optimization design, introduced the sensitivity of theobjective function to realize the design method of conservatism. Establishment part of RVreducer’s cycloidal pinwheel robust reliability optimization model, and use an example toverify this model.
