With country’s paying more attention to production safety, especially High riskindustry as tunnel, related government departments issued the notice or relatedSpecifications, guidelines, procedures, rules one after the other on tunnel geologicalprediction. Ministry of Railways printed and distributed notices “Notice on furtherenhancing geological prediction work before railway tunnel construction [Railwayconstruction〔2006〕No.340]” in2006、“Notice on further clarifing relevant technicalregulations of weak rock and bad geological railway tunnel construction design [Railwayconstruction〔2010〕No.120]” in2010and “Tunnel Geological Prediction TechnicalGuidelines” in2008, respectively. Hubei transportation department promulgated “HubeiProvince Highway Tunnel Geological Prediction Technical Rules” in2009. Ministry ofRailways revised “Technical Specifications for Construction of Highway Tunnel” and“Technical Rules for Construction of Highway Tunnel”. These Specifications, guidelines,rules, details and notices all definitely brought tunnel geological prediction into theconstruction organization design as tunnel construction process. As for complexgeological tunnel, more attention shall be paid to tunnel geological prediction work.Some provinces even explicitly stipulated that it was prohibited tunneling without tunnelgeological prediction results material in high-risk karst, gas tunnel. These show thattunnel geological prediction is highly appreciated.Because that the current national infrastructure construction are growing vigorously,long tunnel (hole) engineering construction is increasing day by day. Tunnel water-inflowseriously threat tunnel project construction, but the tunnel geological prediction methodis still difficult to solve the present situation of the tunnel construction of water-inflowprediction. So, tunnel construction of water-inflow prediction has become a problem tobe solved in tunnel construction. Although rock-mass temperature method of tunnelconstruction water-inflow prediction theory has breakthrough the water-inflow predictiontheory and methods, because the rock-mass temperature method is carried out on thebottom of drilling holes surrounding the tunnel, sometimes even in the deeper holes onthe bottom. Holes especially deep holes were done seriously hindered application promotion of this prediction method. Thus, How to tunnel construction water-inflowprediction by using rock-mass bottom temperature test results of shallow holes isundoubtedly the key of popularizing and applying rock-mass temperature method totunnel construction water-inflow prediction.This paper is supported by the national natural science funds“Prediction and Controlof high pressure and large flow karst-fractured groundwater and defective geologicalconditions” and key scientific projects of China Railway Co., LTD “Measurement of thea ltitude coeffic ients for Queershan tunnel”, with Bazhong Dazhou highway tunnel forengineering background, based on the rock-mass temperature method of tunnelconstruction water-inflow prediction theory, by establishing function relationshipbetween rock-mass bottom temperature and buried depth of holes in different airtemperature conditions, to realize rock-mass temperature to tunnel constructionwater-inflow prediction by shallow holes.
