As the depletion of resources and the increasingly serious environment problems, the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle(IGCC) is one of ways to use coal efficiently, clean, and sustainably. Gas turbine is one of the important equipments of IGCC. In order to use coal in efficient, clean, and sustainable way, the key is to develop combustors for different fuels which have different heat value and compositions. In the past, the design of gas turbine combustors were manually designed based on empirical/semi-empirical methods. It cost a lot and takes a lot of time by using these methods to design gas turbine combustors. In order to reduce time and cost, it’s useful and important to develop software to design of gas turbine combustors.Based on mixed-language programming with Fortran and Delphi, software of preliminary design of gas turbine combustors has been developed. The main functions of the software are as follows:(1) Combustor sizing. According to the requirements of combustor and the compositions of syngas, software uses empirical/semi-empirical methods to calculate the reference diameter and the liner’s diameter, at the same time to design of axial swirler and holes in the liner.(2) Combustion aerodynamics. As the combustor sizing is completed, the combustion aerodynamics of combustor has to be checked.(3) Liner wall temperature. Through the distribution of liner wall temperature, it’s reasonable to verify the design of holes.(4) Combustion efficiency and NOX emissions prediction.The preliminary design of gas turbine combustor software can define combustor size, calculate combustion aerodynamics and wall temperature and so on, step by step, based on the requirements of the combustor. The program also can be used to calculate the combustor’s performance.
