Southern region of Anhui has retained a large number of wood-structure buildings in the Ming andQing dynasties, as the specific Huipai architecture in China’s ancient buildings, they occupy animportant place in the ancient architecture in our country, have a very high historical significance andvalue. Mortise and tenon joint connection is a great technology creation in China ancient times, is oneof the key measures to ensure that the wood-structure buildings of Huizhou has a good seismicperformance. But many existing wood-structure buildings of Huizhou have been used for a long time,structure has been damaged seriously, so it’s meaningful to seek a reasonable strengthened method.In this paper, mortise and tenon joint finite models are built in accordance with the nature andstructural carpentry and the construction requirement in the Song "Yingzao Fashi", then analyse thefailure mechanism of them, and verify the energy-dissipating capacityof “zhisun”and “yanweisun” withthe hysteretic curve under low reversed cyclic loading. Then do the simulation analysis two kinds ofstrengthening method with flat steel and CFRP of straight mortise nodes, compared thedifferences,advantages and disadvantages of these two kinds of strengthening methods, providing basisfor the reinforce and repair work in the future.
