From Industrial Revolution to Athens Charter then to Machu Picchu Charter, the urban form experienced the development process of simple aggregation to function zoning, and evolved into a current synthesis. Under the situation of contradiction between the urbanization leap and resource overdraft, the mixed diverse development mode is popular in all levels from urban planning to architectural design.As one product of intensive development, urban building complex fuses the integration of organic link with the era of multiple integrated essentials, and its center goes from the building construction to workplace creating, as well as the transformation of giant framed building to urban area. Urban building complex creates the crowd value chain with its large-scale and multi-function, while also because of its integration into the urban system, there are traffic pressure action and reaction between urban and building complex.Access tree transportation system has the space characteristics of connectivity, openness, compatibility and three-dimensional nature, and organically integrates the walking public space and transportation of the different levels, which is well used in many successful urban building complex abroad to promote the overall development of the area. Urban building complex In Chengdu is developing rapidly in recent years despite a late start, and becomes an important factor in stimulating the economy and enhancing the urban image; at the same time, various urban transport facilities in Chengdu are rapidly constructed, and the transportation system exposes various drawbacks. Focus of this paper is to investigate the access tree transportation system adaptability and its characteristic combined with the geographical attributes of Chengdu on the base of the study of access tree transportation system in urban building complex.Based on the interpretation of a large number of domestic and foreign cases, field research typical the Chengdu region urban building complex, integrated transport, planning, construction, economic, environmental and psychological multidisciplinary knowledge and the use of graphical analysis and comparative analysis, the core issue of this study makes preliminary answers:different lots and dominant feature of Chengdu urban building complexes are quite different, access tree transportation system has adaptability for highly intensive, mixed development, liquidity and strong urban centers, sub-center area, as well as focus on district; And there are four types of urban building complex are applied to access tree transportation system, such as urban building complex of transport hub or relying on the transportation hub, urban building complex having flexible surrounding environment, urban building complex having joint development, and urban building complex mainly made up of business, entertainment, leisure, public and so on; At the same time access tree transportation system used in the Chengdu region urban building complex shows some adaptability characteristics, including two-scale characteristic, gameplay characteristic, the old and the new integration characteristic, and full-time characteristic.The paper presents that the integration of urban architecture and rail transportation, the use of an intermediary space, and the rational use of non-ground floor are three system design strategies about adaptability, which is applied and verified in Gaopan Road urban building complex project in Chengdu.
