In recent years, all around the world, earthquake disasters have occurred frequently and have brought great damage to the assets of the people and to the safety of lifies. As life-line projects, if any bridge collapse in a earthquake, it would be a disaster.There will be not only great direct losses, but also secondary disasters that will cause great loss of life and assets of the people.Take its conspicuous advantages into consideration, concrete filled steel tubular arch bridges, as a newly flourished kind of bridge, in recent years, have gotten great developments and are widely used all around China. In recent years, the increasing span, the smaller sections,the lighter structure and so on,all make the computation of long span concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge’s seismic response and seismic performance are of greater and greater importance.This paper have calculated the dynamic behaviors and seismic response of a CFST bridge by the large finite element software called Midas/Civil.The main wok is summarized as follows:(1)The dynamic characteristics analysis of concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge. A finite element model of a concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge is established using large common finite element program-MIDAS. The bridge’s dynamic characteristics are calculated and self-vibration characteristics is analysed.(2)The seismic spectrum analysis for the concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge. Several appropriate seismic spectrum curves based on the recent highway bridge seismic standard are calculated. The concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge’s internal force and displacement responses are calculated according to the curve. And the three-dimensional combined seismic effect is also taken into consideration.(3) The seismic action for dynamic time-history analysis of concrete filled steel tube arch bridge. Establishing a finite element model for the seismic response time-history analysis of concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge. The concrete-filled steel tube concrete arch bridge’s internal force and its displacement responses will be calculated. Traveling wave effect can also be taken into consideration.
