The air and evaporation composite cooler is an energy efficient refrigeration equipment that using the energy from natural environment and without environmental pressures. It is a closed cooler and its core structure is the parallel combination with air cooling coil and evaporative cooling coil. With the advocating of developing green economy, research and development of the new environmental protection and energy-saving cooler, it has great practical significance, for energy conservation and emission reduction, reducing the waste of water resources and the sustainable development of economy.At present, the relevant research on structural design and performance analysis of the composite type cooler is still relatively less. Based on the study of present basic theory, researching structure design and performance analysis of the composite cooler and putting out a feasible analysis method are to provide valuable reference for the widely using in engineering field. Combined with MATLAB program design, develop computer simulation software, design the structural of the composite type cooler and study the operating parameters and the structure parameters.Firstly, analyze the principle of air cooling and evaporative cooling and the mechanism of heat and mass transfer in the composite type cooler. Based on one-dimensional assumption and though appropriate conditions simplification, establish the mathematical model of the cooler, and then solve the mathematical. At the same time, confirm the specific solving method of heat transfer coefficient, mass transfer coefficient and other parameters.Secondly, by determining the overall design scheme, using the MATLAB language programs design procedure of the detailed design steps. And combined with the instance, different structures of the composite type cooler are researched in order to work out different combinations of cooler. Then through checking heat exchange amount in various working conditions and combined the effects of total cost, we can determine the optimal design scheme. Again, it is to link the program design and visualization interface by combining MATLAB program design with graphical edit function of GUIDE, and develop a visual software of the composite type cooler. The visual software is used to study the influence of operating parameters and structural parameters, and get the influence law of cooling property.
