| Taking the limestone mountain in the south of Jinan City as the research subject, the thesis discusses the optimal vegetation combination to restore in this region based on the survey and analysis of the structural characteristics and the ecological function of the man-made forest in limestone mountain region, and proposes a relevant plan for optimizing the vegetation landscape by making a reasonable arrangement of the suitable tree species. The thesis aims at providing a theoretical basis for restoring the vegetation of high ecological efficiency, species variety, and reasonable structure, enriching the mountain landscape in southern Jinan, and boosting the ecological tourism in this region.The results show that:(1)Among the main forest stands in the limestone mountain in the south of Jinan City, the tree layer includes totally18families with27genera and the shrub layer consists of18families with22genera. Those families with relatively more types of genera are Ulmaceae and Anacardiaceae. Almost all plants of those two layers belong to heliophilous species. As for the species found in this region, Lodgepole pine and arborvitae are the dominant species in tree layer, five-leaf chaste tree in shrub layer, and Themedajaponica, Eriophorum and Vitex seedlings in the constructive species of herb layer.(2) According to the research, the vegetation colonies in this region can be divided into four categories:coniferous forests, mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees, broadleaf deciduous forests, and underbrush and herbosa. The total number of each species reflects the characteristic:the species number of underbrush and herbosa counts> that of mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees>that of coniferous forests> broadleaf deciduous trees. However, from the perspective of different vegetation layers, the largest species number belongs to arbor trees in mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees, while the species number of each layer in broadleaf deciduous forests all counts the smaiiest. The species of underbrusn ana herbosa are of the most aiversiry.(3)This thesis makes a comparison among the statistics of those four types of vegetation in this region in the aspects of species diversity index,species evenness index,and species abundance index.In terms of species diversity index and species abundance inndex respectively, the result shows the same characteristic:mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees> underbrush and herbosa> coniferous forests> broadleaf deciduous forests. However,in the aspect of species evenness index,the result is that mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees> coniferous forests>underbrush and herbosa?broadleaf deciduous forests.Comprehensively speaking, all indexes of mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees are at the highest level,followed by underbrush and herbosa, coniferous forests and broadleaf deciduous forests,which shows that mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees is a more advanced and matured stage in the evolution of vegetation in this region.The result proves that in order to restore the vegetation in this region,mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees are the best choice in view of ecology.(4)the comprehensive evaluation index of ecological function in vegetation restoration in this region shows that mixed forests of coniferous trees and broadleaf deciduous trees perform best,followed by coniferous forests and broadleaf deciduous forests, with underbrush and herbosa as the least.(5)Considering the current vegetation condition of the southern linestone mountains as well as its influence on the social and economic development of Jinan city, the thesis proposes five vegetation landscape optimization plans for this region based oil the analysis of the structural characteristics and the ecological function of the vegetation colonies. |
