The sealing device being developed for more than a century has been widely used in industrial production. Due to its special performance, the rubber is the best sealing material. However, thousands of disasters caused by the failure of sealing rubber, such as the HMS challenger explosion and the explosion accidents in oil refining industry in Japan. Two benefits can be gotten from the lifetime prediction of the sealing rubber material under certain conditions, one is that the servicing period of the sealing rubber can be referenced from the prediction results, the other is that the specific properties of the rubber material can be improved in production process based on the experimental performance, the reliability of the sealing rubber can be improved from both sides.Various factors affecting the lifetime of the bearing sealing rubber material are analyzed in this paper and the main factors are confirmed to be temperature and lube oil. According to the analysis result, the experiments are designed:Fluorine rubber aging experiment in hot air and Fluorine rubber aging experiment in lube oil. The temperature, lube oil and time are taken as variables, and the lifetime of the Fluorine rubber is treated as dependent variables, the optimal models whose error are small for description of the relationship between variables and dependent variables are found out to be the correction Arrhenius formula model and grey non-equidistant GM(1,1) model. Those two models are used to predict the lifetime of the Fluorine rubber in air and in lube oil separately, the results are shown that the lifetime of the Fluorine rubber at30℃in air is4.5years and the lifetime of the Fluorine rubber at30℃in lube oil is5.4years by using the correction Arrhenius Formula and that the lifetime of the Fluorine rubber at30℃in lube oil is3.34years by using grey non-equidistant GM(1,1) model.The conclusions can be obtained by analyzing the results that the prediction result of the correction Arrhenius formula is accurate in air, while the prediction result of the grey non-equidistant GM (1,1) is more accurate in lube oil. Therefore, the prediction results of the grey non-equidistant GM (1.1) model are more accurate in complex conditions where there are many factors affecting the lifetime of the sealing rubber.
