With the development of pneumatic technology, cylinder in industrial applications more widely. As the gas is compressible, once the cylinder operating conditions change, the cushion state will be destroyed. Fluctuations in operating conditions is inevitable in industrial production. The traditional way is to manually adjust the cylinder cushion valve, and adjustment results can test and verify in the next campaign cycle. There is a small range of the condition. The world’s leading supplier of pneumatic components is active in research self-adjusting cushioning cylinder. There are still a variety of insufficient in cushion structure.This subject advances a way to analysis the motion of the cylinder. Further analyzes the changes in working conditions under the cushion state for destruction. Finally proposes self-adjusting structure which can adapt to changes in working conditions and verify cushion effect by experiments.By collecting needle cylinder and relief cushion cylinder’s speed, displacement, pressure and other data, cushion state of cylinder is divided into five stages. Exhaust flow, piston position, energy conversion and other characteristics of cylinder in different stages are described in the subject.With the method of control variable, author compares changes in collection cylinder data. Fundamental cause of damage cushion effect is the valve has different kinetic energy at the beginning of the cushion stroke piston. The different kinetic energy comes from the difference of exhaust chamber gas flow in acceleration stage.In this subject self-adjusting cushioning structure is proposed from fundamental cause of damage cushion effect. Self-adjusting cushioning structure can prevent gas flow out of exhaust chamber. When the speed of piston reaches the set speed, self-adjusting cushioning structure accelerate the gas flow. Self-adjusting cushioning structure is verified by experiment at the end of th subject.
