In recent years, the main places of construction of hydropower engineering have been moved to Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, where has abundant hydro energy but complicated geology condition. The effect of deep overburden must be considered if hydropower engineering want to be built. So, problems have been paid great attention. In previous research, there are earth-rock dams and sluices, but not hydropower house, on deep overburden. Combined with three kinds of constitutive models, the paper studied foundation treatment methods of a hydropower house on soft soil foundation and static and dynamic properties of the house under different foundation treatment methods by FEM. Examined, contrasted and analyzed the displacement response of hydropower house under different foundation treatment methods. The detailed work is as follows:(1) In static analysis, unloading and reloading modulus of Duncan-Chang constitutive model and Mohr-Coulomb equivalent area circle yield criterion are used as the constitutive model of foundation. The paper gives the method to calculate these foregoing parameters and suggests a new way to calculate structural deformation on deep overburden. Simulate friction contact problem between piles and soil with surface contact element. By comparing and analyzing the result under different foundation treatment methods, the paper suggests that installing friction piles under the whole bottom of the hydropower house and proceeding consolidation grouting in larger range could control part of settlement and springback by retaining water.(2) Calculate seismic response of hydropower house and foundation with/by modal analysis response spectral method, using the model of installing friction piles under the whole bottom of the hydropower house and proceeding consolidation grouting. Evaluate seismic resistance, bearing pressure on foundation and deformation behavior of structure.(3) Calculate and analyze seismic response of hydropower house under different foundation treatment methods to get dynamic displacement along river flow direction and vertical. Compare and analyze seismic resistance of hydropower house under different foundation treatment methods. The result indicates that installing more friction piles and proceeding consolidation grouting in larger range could decrease seismic response of hydropower house significantly. According to the advances, it helps to improve construction control quality and design accuracy of hydropower house on deep overburden, which is meaningful to guarantee safety and optimization design.
