Floating dock can move and sink in a feasible water zone. Thus it can be used for repair, extradite, launching and so on. Compare with the anchor mooring, piles mooring has the advantage such as occupation smaller water zone, little influence on the zone around, free heavy with the wave, little moving in the horizontal surface, easy to equipment transportation and so on. Piles mooring are widely used in the water zones with lower wave loads.Contrary with all the advantages above, it is short of scope. Floating dock in piles mooring can move little, only sway, surge, raising and down. Thus, the floating dock can’t avoid the wave and the wind effecting on it. So the loads is huge when the heavy wave and wind on it.The traditional wave loads calculation of floating dock piles mooring is by empirical formula and model experiment. There are two empirical formulas, one is the formulas propounded by L. QIU, the other is the Codes. There is difference between the two results, sometimes the distance is huge. Popularly we prefer the bigger result, or adopt the result of the model experiment. But the model experiment is expensive and time-consuming.In order to solve this problem, This paper used the CFD calculate the wave loads. CFD is fluid motion numerical modeling. By the computer technology, segregated solve the fluid kinetic equation, export the result and displayed it visually by many different colors. Under the conditions of accurate, this method compared with model experiments, has many superiorities, such as economy and timeliness. Summarized the methods inland and outland for calculation the wave loads on the floating dock, used FLUENT, in the case of wave condition, without ships in and neat the floating dock, simulated the environment and calculated the wave loads. And calculated the Beihai80,000ton floating dock and the Nantong150,000ton floating dock, compare with the results of the model experiment. In order to check the computational simulation’s correctness.Based on the incompressible viscous fluid, and with a two-phase flow, by the volume of fluid method, and using Open channel wave BC imitating the airy wave and the two order Stokes wave. And imitated the sway with the UDF. In order to reflected the actual condition as much as possible, instead of the floating dock piles mooring’s model experiments. Made the calculation accurately, timely, economically.
