Pump is used to transport liquid and is a type of mechanical device which converts the energy of primer mover into fluid kinetic energy or pressure energy. As the development of society, people has an increasing demand for the vibration control of pump. Set the full capacity condensate pump for the pump unit with capacity of1000MW project as the research object, firstly, this paper analyzed the main reasons of possibly causing vibration of the pump. The means of vibration measurement was adopted to carry out the actual signals collection on main vibration positions according to different operating points, to compare and analyze the collected data from horizontal and vertical aspects, to extract features and analyze transmission path, and to identify the vibration sources. Secondly, combined with design theory and practical experiments, this paper analyzed the reasons may cause the vibration based on vibration features and minimized the scope of possibly causing vibration. In further, the parts caused the vibration were determined. So the corresponding improvement had been implemented and the improvement program had been pointed out, such as replace parts, improving structure and so on. Finally, in this paper, the vibration data for each optimized program was extracted and compared completely. The feasibility and accuracy of optimized program was verified. The vibration indicator had lowered blow2.8mm/s from3.8mm/s, which had achieved the vibration acceptance standard and realized the target of reducing vibration.This paper had pointed out the method of reducing vibration based on data collection, feature extraction, determination of vibration source, analysis of vibration mechanism and improvement implemented. In further, the method was applied in the pump actually existing excessive vibration in Yang zi Petrochemical and verified to be effective and feasible, which had provided means and experiment support for treating similar problems in practical work.
