With the rapid development of construction industry in Hefei area,buildingenergy consumption and the building garbage is increasing year by year,It’s necessaryto study in building energy saving.According to introduce typical exterior wall external insulation system in Hefeiarea about structure,system characteristics,the engineering application and theproblems,the paper sumes up the application of several kinds of external thermalinsulation system in Hefei area.The comparation of thermal insulation performance is installed between theinternal and external insulation of different heat transfer analysis in ANSYS, thechange of building exterior wall internal surface temperature evaluate the thermalinsulation performance of the system.Winthin the same thickness of EPSboard,powder polystyrene particles,polyurethane foam and vitrified smallball,polyurethane foam thermal insulation performance is best,EPS insulation systemis the next,the thermal performance of vitrified small ball system is the worst.Underthe same material and climate,it comes to the conclusion that exterior thermalinsulation performance is better than the internal.In case of a practical project oftesting and evalution for energy efficiency in Hefei,when putting thermal insulationform inside or outside,building energy consumption changes and also everifiesANSYS simulation results.Winthin the analysis between thickness of heat preservation material andbuilding energy consumption of typical multi-storey building in Hefei,the paperconcludes that as the increase of the thickness of insulation material,the relativebuilding energy consumption is smaller and smaller,energy-saving benefit willgradually become lowerer.The paper uses life cycle cost analysis to analyse optimalthickness of insulating layer in Hefei area,when the base wall uses thereinforcedconcrete,aerated concrete hollow block and coal gangue sintered hollow brick.Itconcludes that the optimal insulating layer thickness of polyurethane foam exteriorinsulation system should not be more than30mm,but heat transfer coefficient of the system can’t achieve65%energy saving design standard of Hefei.So the design ofpolyurethane foam plastics shouldn’t use the optimal thickness and should follow thespecification requirements.EPS exterior insulation system can’t be used winthinreinforced concrete wall.With coal gangue sintered hollow brick and aerated concretehollow block as base wall,the condition of optimal thickness of EPS insulation isabout35mm;Using the optimal thickness of powder polystyrene particles exteriorinsulation system is not suitable for the reinforced concrete wall,the optimal thicknessof insulating layer should be35mm within aerated concrete hollow block and coalgangue as base wall;,The thickness of Vitrified small ball external thermal insulationsystem can only in the use within aerated concrete hollow block wall.According to simulation by ANSYS and PKPM, external thermal insulationsystem is more suitable than internal insulation for promotion in hefei area.Thecalculation is closer to actual. According to the software program, the optionalthickness can be obtained rapidly.It’s significative on the building energy savingdevelopment of Hefei area.
