Abstract/Summary:
In the industrial production process, the need for regular acoustic emissiondetection on pressure equipment, piping and etc. In some special conditions, due tothe constraints of testing instruments and testing conditions,acoustic emission testingis not possible. While, in order to achieve the acoustic emission testing under thesespecial conditions, wave-guiding rod as an auxiliary detection tools can be applied.Therefore, for the convenience of the scene detection, it is necessary to carry out theresearch of characteristics and the design of the wave-guiding rod auxiliary detectiontool.In this paper, on the basis of the stress wave propagation theory, make use of thesoftware of ABAQUS and ANSYS simulation study of the wave-guiding rodwave-guiding properties and radiating effect respectively, and compared with theexperimental results. Then design the different types of wave-guiding rod, to providethe basis for the acoustic emission testing. The contents of the paper are listed asfollows:Establish the wave-guiding rod acoustic emission detection system, and carry outthe acoustic emission characteristics simulation and experimental studies of thewave-guiding rod of different diameter, different length, different type of boss. Thecomparative analysis of simulation and experimental results to study the impact of thestress amplitudes of different types of the wave-guiding rod, and provide the basis forthe choice of the wave-guiding rod.According to the basis theoretical of the stress wave propagation in thewave-guiding rod, The design and development of a variety of different types of thewave-guiding rod boss, and the connection mechanism of the wave-guiding rod orsensor with the object to be measured, and the length can be adjusted wave-guidingrod, for the special conditions of the acoustic emission detection to be possible.The acoustic emission under high-temperature conditions of the normaltemperature sensor can’t be coupled directly on the surface of the object to bemeasured, so need to use the wave-guiding rod connect to the sensor and themeasured object. Through the study of cooling effect of the wave-guiding rodsimulation and experimental studies to study the temperature variation in thewave-guiding rod, through the comparative analysis, proposed suitable for acoustic emission detection object surface temperature detection the size of the wave-guidingrod length and the diameter of the wave-guiding rod.
