γ spectrometry is an extremely significant nuclear geophysical method. Gammaspectrometer not only can directly measure the surface soil, rock, ore ‘s U (uranium),Th (thorium), K (potassium) and other natural radioactive elements characteristicgamma lines, but also can get the content of U, Th, K and other relevant radionuclidesinformation by the processing of the gamma spectroscopy analysis software.To meet the gamma spectrometer fully functional needs, such as easy to carry,processing speed, easy to operate in the field measurements. Therefore, we designedand developed the PDA-Based portable multi-channel gamma spectrometer softwarefor measurement of U, Th, K radioactive nuclide content. The procedures developedwith the capture settings, measurement and control, spectral data analysis, instrumentcalibration, file operations, system help.In the process of software development, according some features of the software,the paper made the following design. We designed a serial communication protocolclass and multi-thread synchronization techniques to improve the efficiency of dataacquisition. It was used a double-buffered graphics technology to effectively solve theproblem of the splash screen. At the same time, it also was used five three-point andseven three smooth methods to smooth the spectral data to improve the accuracy ofthe analysis of spectral data. The paper designed Five point-Three times of the firstderivative and second derivative methods to search the data smoothed peak andimproved the ability of distinguishing double-peak of spectrum. Simultaneously, itwas used the classic inverse matrix method (characteristic energy segment method forrapid calculation) to quickly calculate the content of radionuclide. In addition, thepaper adopted the real-time software spectrum stabilization technology and the probespectrum stabilization circuit a combination of methods to suppress interferencespectral drift. And the analyst can choose the methods according to the actual needs of the choice of methods in smoothing and peak search.According to the actual test of the functions of the software, it achieved the basicneeds of the portable multi-channel gamma spectrometer.
