One-way traffic is one of the important measures to alleviate urban traffic congestion, adjust the traffic volume operation, improve the microcirculation, and promote the urban transportation network to be smoothly. In order to take the advantages of one-way traffic fully, not only the one-way traffic should be planned, but the operation and connection of one-way traffic also should be studied.The connection and matching of one-way and regular traffic is the core of this paper, the main points are where to be the connection node and the matching effect. This paper proposed the physical and traffic prerequisites of the connection nodes to operate one-way traffic based on the characteristics of the connection nodes. A method to measure the matching consistency of one-way traffic and regular traffic also was developed with the analysis of their transfer mechanisms. The main purpose of these efforts is promoting the efficiency of the connection of one-way traffic with the regular traffic, ensuring the urban transportation developed orderly.One-way traffic shares some similarities with the regular traffic operation, but the differences are more important. Proceed from the match of one-way traffic and regular traffic, the following works carried out by this paper. First is the definition of one-way traffic and regular traffic, explicit the objects to connect, the connection nodes, the necessity of cohesion and matching, then the objectives and principles were proposed. Second, the prerequisite of connection nodes was analyzed. The connection nodes were classified and their traffic characteristics were analyzed according to different one-way traffic plans. The matching correlation of the nodes’ physical facilities, capacity and demand were studied, come up with the prerequisite s meet the need of connecting one-way traffic and regular traffic and Synchro was used to testing and simulation. Last but not least, the main points of one-way traffic, the influence region, connection priority and traffic load were confirmed, a matching and connection model was developed and the factors were qualified by Plume model and priority matrix method.
