With the rapid development of transportation in our country, bridge, as an important part of transport line, has an apparent increase in quantity and scale. Small and medium span Bridges has taken a proportion of more than80%in China’s road bridges built, especially among the highway bridges. And the telescopic device, as an component of the bridge, is often the weak link of the bridge structure. By studying the design method of the small and medium-sized span seamless bridge,we can greatly improve the highway driving comfort and the durability of the bridge structure. Based on the current research of the elastic-plastic body expansion joint, this paper puts forward a new type expansion joint of seamless floor form, and doing research on this new expansion structure. The main content of this paper studies on includes:(1) the bridge structure and telescopic device(2) material test research on the materials used in the seamless bridge deck structure(3) model test research on the seamless bridge deck structure and elastic-plastic body expansion joint structure(4) research on the field test of the relied on project.Based on the research, this paper will analyse the limitation of its usage, and put forward the corresponding improving measures, while realizing the improving measures, combined with laboratory and field tests, this paper has analysed the feasibility of the promotion of its using, and at the same time, this new type of telescopic device can maximumly improve driving comfort, so the studying of this paper gives inspiration for future research on expansion device design, at the same time, serves as an reference for similary research in the future, so that this paper has an apparent social value.
