With the wide spread of wind power utilization in our country, the aerodynamicperformance of Wind Turbine is concerned more. For more precise forecast WindTurbine aerodynamic performance, CFD is used as a tool to study the variation of theaerodynamic characteristics of horizontal axis wind turbine wind wheel in normaloperating conditions by solving the incompressible NS equations based on thepressure correction method and wake characteristics.In this paper, the aerodynamic Performance of1.5MW Horizontal Axis WindTurbine is studied, The main content includes: basic theory of the wind turbine design,introduction of wind turbine blade airfoil, classification of the wind turbine, windturbine blade airfoil performance analysis, three-dimensional solid modeling of windturbine blades, Turbine wake aerodynamic performance analysis and more.The article also details the relevant basic theory and computational fluiddynamics governing equations, numerical simulation based on the aerodynamicperformance of a wind turbine blade airfoil.To discuss and analyze the aerodynamic performance of airfoil of horizontal windturbine blade more direct viewing and vivid, these airfoil FFA-W3-211,FFA-W3-301and NACA63-215used widely in the horizontal wind turbine blades are numericallyinvestigated by the FLUENT. Comparison between the simulated data and theexperiment data has been carried out in order to verify the feasibility and thereliability of aerodynamic numerical simulation of wind turbine. The simulation andanalyses are helpful to understand the aerodynamic performance and character ofaerofoil of wind turbine, and supply technological parameters and advices for thedesign and researching of blade aerofoil.A airfoils plane curve is drawn according to two-dimensional airfoil data, andthen set the solid model of1.5MW wind turbine based on UG software. Aerodynamic characteristics of the numerical calculation are studied, usingcomputational fluid Software Workbench platform for Wind Turbine, the calculationresults are analyzed, and relevant conclusions are gained. It provides usefulinformation for future research horizontal axis wind turbine blade aerodynamiccharacteristics.
