MEMS devices are lightweight, small size and low power consumption, witch canmeet with the requirement of aircraft very well. Self-adapting structure for theaerodynamic control, which arrayed by MEMS devices, became the important issue inthe AERO-MEMS field. MEMS technology has opened a new territory for flow control.Firstly, a MEMS-based micro balloon actuator array for projectile correctioncontrol had been researched. According to principle of micro balloon actuator, thematerial of balloon were defined. This paper has given microactuator array’s physicaldimension and process flow. The micro balloon actuator integrated structure in the nosehas also been design.Base on the micro balloon actuator integrated structure, model of load-deflectionrelationship of the rectangular membrane, micro balloon actuator’s theory curve ofpressure-deflection has been calculated and plotted.Secondly, according to the aerodynamic principle, based on finite element mothod,a model of microactuator arrayed with the projectile was accomplished, andComputational Fluid Dynamic(CFD) flow simulation was performed. Projectileaerodynamic characteristic with different microactuator array was given. As a result, thegeometrical parameter of the microactuators and the optimization of the actuator arraysstructure configuration were realized.Finally, for the purpose to verify the control ability of microactuator array and thefeasibility of the scheme. According to the six degree of freedom theory, ballisticequation of Correction Projectile was established. The parameter of the externaltrajectory of the control projectile and relationship between control time and correctionwere calculated by applying the method of fourth order Runge-Kutta attitude algorithmand combining with the result of aerodynamic characteristics, and the gyro stability, dynamic stability, follow stability of the projectile have been analyzed.
