The hydraulic pumps must be installed and debugged before working, but it is not easily for workers to install and debug hydraulic pumps whose function are complicated. Although a large number of human and material resources are cost in those works, operation of hydraulic pumps are not satisfactory. In addition, some important components will gradually be damaged after hydraulic equipment is used for a period of time. System performance become worse and worse.Eventually, the specified function cannot be achieved. It was called malfunction that the equipment lost required functions. Once hydraulic equipment malfunction appear, maintenance and repair work must be timely and effective, which can avoid affecting normal operation of equipment.Axial piston pumps are firstly classified in this paper. In order to strengthen understanding of these pumps, their working principle and structure characteristics are discussed. This knowledge is the foundation of development of the installation and debugging system which can also be used to diagnose malfunctions.The third chapter focuses on the development of hydraulic pump installation and debugging system. This system can be used to guide enterprise workers to install and repair pump. Flash software is the main development tool which is introduced briefly. The process of how to develop a multimedia system of installation and debugging axial piston pump based Flash software is discussed in detail. Finally, the effect diagrams are shown.After analyzing and researching expert system theory, its basic structure and functions are expounded in the fourth part. In addition, a knowledge database about installing and debugging axial piston pump is built based on Access2000. Through the study of expert system reasoning machine, forward reasoning mechanism were determined. Forward reasoning mode based on expert system of reasoning machine is designed and reasoning steps are explained.In addition, malfunction mode and mechanism of axial piston pump are analyzed. The malfunction characteristics are classified. According to the classification of malfunction characteristics, the diagnostic parameters are also be classified.Finally, based on users’ requirements, main function modules and human-machine interface of system are developed, that are achieved in platform of VC++6.0and C++is the development language.
