LED is a new generation of environment-friendly light source. It has the distinct advantages of low power consumption, high luminaire efficiency, long service life and high security, so popularizing the LED sources for lighting is useful for our country and people. LED Profile Moving Head is a device with highly technology, especially when taking LED as the light source, the design become more difficult. Researching LED Profile Moving Head is beneficial for the development of LED lighting, and will raise the technical level of researching the stage lighting equipment for our country.Up to now, the potential applications of high power LED in the stage lighting equipment are of broad prospects, but the problem that the beam angle and the luminous chip area of the LED source are very large will restrict it being used in the stage lighting. First, we introduce the development of LED lighting and stage lighting equipment by consulting a large number of relevant literature. Secondly, this paper introduces the basic theory of non-imaging optics as well as the application in lighting. Aiming at the problem of LED’s large beam angle and the luminous chip area, we originally put forward an algorithm to minimize the beam of reflector for the first time to solve this problem. Then we put forward a discontinuous surface reflector which can reduce the impact caused by different directions with different Etcndue on the uniformity and the light spot shape.The zoom system is an important part of the LED Profile Moving Head. Its design process needs to be skilled in optical design software ZEMAX, understanding of optical design theory and methods. After browsing a large number of relevant information and learning the theory and the method of zoom lens design, we obtained a satisfactory final design and structure of zoom.There is large different design theory between non-imaging optics and imaging optics, but the two kind of theories are embodied in the process of designing a LED Profile Moving Head. As each part of the optical system will interact on each other, so there may be some conflicts between the two theories. In this paper, we reduced the conflict influence on optical system to the minimum.
