Ship power system relative to terrestrial power system is an independent power network load characteristics of variety, the installed capacity of small, poor working conditions. With the development of ship maximization, automation, stability, power quality, reliability and more important for the safety of ship operation has become the role of power system. Excitation of neural network control system can improve the stability and reliability of the power system.Through a large number of documents, analysis of synchronous generator excitation system of ship task, research on phase compound excitation brushless excitation system, and the research of fuzzy control algorithm and BP neural network algorithm. Based on the conventional PID control excitation system, fuzzy adaptive control mode selection, design and development of excitation system based on fuzzy PID control and excitation system based on neural network PID control. The MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software is used to build the ship power system simulation model and the simulation of two kinds of excitation system.The simulation results show:the fuzzy control and neural network control of excitation control system are in line with China’s "RULES FOR CLASSIFICATION OF SEA-GOING STEEL SHIPS", the excitation control system and neural network control with load conditions in ship power system under fault conditions, process, reliability and stability were higher than that of the excitation control system based on fuzzy control.
