In this paper, taken the jack-up wind turbine installation vessel project as the research background, and considered the characteristics of the jack-up spudcan, the structural strength analysis of spudcan was completed according to the theory research and model building. As a result of the complexity of the marine environment, the environmental load on jack-up platform is very complex, including the wave load, the current load and the wind load, etc. The combination of the platform’s own gravity and environmental load is to be passed on to the spudcan through the legs, and spudcan offers support and resistance to the whole jack-up platform. According to different load case, the way and the size of the load on spudcan are also different. Based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench14.0, the modeling, loading, boundary constraint and calculation of the jack-up spudcan was completed.In this paper, the main research work is as follows:(1) According to the structural type and geometric characteristics of the spudcan, a equivalent model was builded.(2) Analyzing the platform of its own gravity load and environmental load, a detailed theoretical analysis and calculation of the environment load (the wave force, the current force and the wind force, etc.) according to the rules was completed, too.(3) The load case of spudcan can be divided into three categories:the preballasting load case, the decentration load case and the storm survive load case. According to the results of the platform load calculation, apply load on the spudcan model and constraint boundary.(4) All the load cases were to be analyzed and calculated by the finite element analysis software. According to the calculation results, check the strength of spudcan with the most unfavorable load case and complete the structural strength analysis of the whole spudcan.
