| Following the progress of modern computer technology, communication technology and control science, the advantage of field bus technology in the application of modern industries has been obvious and increasing. Transformation station is one of the areas with the most intensified application of modern science and technologies. For a petrochemical plant, its main transformation station is the control center for electricity distribution. It needs to manage various operations and parameters, such as electrical operations, operational current surges, accidents, relay protection, incidents recording. A powerful, multi-function and fully-automatized system is desirable for this duty. The advantage of field bus technology in the application of a main transformation station can better meet the requirement of management of those operations and parameters.This article presents the current status and future trend of the field bus technology, showing its application in several main transformation stations. For a typical application, this article summarizes the requirement on hardware, structure, operators’interfaces, and communication modes, etc. Difference and similarities between a field bus system and a DCS (distributed control system) has been outlined also in this article.This article focuses on the application of field bus technology in the No.2Main Transformation Station of China Blue Chemical Ltd.. Statistic analysis has been conducted for the effect and problems of application of field bus technology in the station. Focus has been paid on root causes and solutions for a problem of lasting false alarm. It provides an example of combination between theory and practice.The analysis on communication speed of field signal, and improvement of reporting function included in this article may be used as reference for other similar main transformation stations. |
