The rigid frame arch bridge of reinforced concrete is a new bridge structure type whichis developed from double–convex arch bridge, truss arch bridge, rib arch bridge and leggedrigid frame bridge. Because the spandrel structure style of the rigid frame arch bridge islegged rigid frame, the mechanical behavior of the structure combines the characteristics ofboth beam style rigid frame and arch structure. In the service period, it can fully exert theadvantages of arch bridge and the legged rigid frame.The spandrel structure of the traditional arch bridge transfers load to the arch rib but itdoes not bear any load itself. However the rigid frame arch bridge has the characteristics oflegged rigid frame, whose spandrel structure is composed of chord and oblique strutsupported on the pier and abutment. Then the super and substructure of the entire bridge isconsolidated to a overall structure to resist external loads. Therefore, the integrity andstiffness of the bridge are both improved, and greatly weakens the internal force peak of thecomposed components, which makes the component slight and slim.The structural analysis and the mechanical property analysis of the rigid frame archbridge show that, this kind of bridge has the characteristics of light structure, high carryingcapacity, good applicability, beautiful bridge style and saving materials. Because the rigidframe arch bridge has so many advantages, after the first rigid frame arch bridge was built inWuxi Jiangsu in1977~1978, this kind of bridge style is confirmed by the former Ministry ofCommunications and is widely applied in China.As the promotion of the application of the rigid frame arch bridge, this kind of bridgehas encountered different styles of diseases. In view of the particularity of the rigid framearch bridge structure and the mechanical properties, we should conduct researches on deign,construction and detection, so as to avoid the diseases or reduce the damage extent of thediseases. Therefore, it’s very meaningful to conduct researches on the construction processand load transverse distribution of rigid frame arch bridge.Based on the practical project of a60-meter reinforced concrete rigid frame arch bridge, this paper conducts the researches as follows:1. After the deep analysis of the prefabrication and assembling process of the60-meterrigid frame arch bridge, it concludes the general construction process of this kind of rigidframe arch bridge, and discusses the structural systems of each construction stage. In view ofthe importance of supports, it analyzes the design and manufacture method of the supports.2. On the basis of the structural mechanical property analysis of the launching nose andsupports, it presents the method of using the finite element method to conduct safetychecking calculation to the launching nose and the supports. After the full grasp of the basictheory of the finite element method and the mechanical properties of the Beam188element,Pipe16element and the Link8element, it builds the finite element model of the launchingnose and the supports. Based on the conception of load step in Ansys, it finishes thenumerical simulation calculation in case of changing load location in the finite elementmodel and confirms the most disadvantageous load case of the launching nose and thesupports. It conducts the finite element analysis of the launching nose and supports in themost advantageous load case and checks the safety of the launching nose and the supportsbased on the analysis results.3. It uses the finite element software to build the space finite element theoreticalanalysis model of the rigid arch bridge in case of considering the deck pavement andignoring the deck pavement. Based on the model, it calculates the transverse loaddistribution influence line of the ribs under static load and compares the analysis results oftwo kinds of models, what’s more, it analyzes the influence law of deck pavement on thetransverse load distribution.
