With the development of construction industry during recent years, stone has become theindispensable decoration materials in people’s lives with its unique advantages, the production ofstone in our country is increasing year by year, the exports of stone has exceeded Italy as theworld’s largest exporter of stone. However, the level of our stone industry and NC technology inthe international arena is still in the low, the NC technology is not high,most of the stonemanufacturers still use the traditional manual measurement methods when measure the size ofthe slab or for the optimal cutting,this resulted in a waste in human resources and time.Theefficiency is very low. So how to improve the utilization of stone raw materials,increaseproductivity, saving time is the key related to development of the stone manufacturer and even tothe china’s stone industry.How to realize detection system and optimization cutting for stoneslabs in production process has become the big problem which the stone manufacturers eager tosolve. The stone developed countries abroad have used the automation production technology,which can extract the size of slab automatically; intelligent cutting with computer, but theresearch of related technology in domestic is less. the technology of stone slab-line detection andoptimal cutting This paper research is applied the CCD detector technology to the stoneprocessing,it can achieve the fuction that gathering the slabs, edge detection and online-cutting,the result can increase the utilization of raw materials effectively, save more manpower and moretime,improve processing efficiency with the very important practical value and academicvalue.This paper does the studies with the following aspects:(1) Establish the framework of the CCD detection system foe stone according to the goal,set up the CCD detection system for stone respectively from the light source device, CCDcamera, lens and other aspects, analysis camera calibration technology and do the calibration tothe camera of system.(2) Process the slab real-time image of the CCD gathering in order to achieve the purposeof edge extract, ues the canny edge detection which including the gaussian filter de-noising, findthe magnitude and the direction of the gradient,non-maxima suppression, dual-thresholdcalculations edge extraction, extraction the size of the edge.(3) Do an in-depth study for the technology of optimal cutting,analysis the technology forthe project slabs,chosen mathematical methods to solve the problem that the optimal cutting ofsingle engineering slabs and the mixture engineering slabs the paper research and introduce the dynamic programming and the linear programming detailed,established the dynamicprogramming model based on single engineering slabs and the linear programming model basedon mixture engineering slabs,solving the model and get the optimal cutting program.(4) Develop the CCD detection system and optimization cutting system for stone with theVC++program, design the functional and interface respectively from the image acquisitionmodule, image processing module, the optimal layout modules and data output module.
